Fitness means being physically fit. It means that person have the ability to take parts in sports and do daily activities easily. Fitness means a person having muscular strength, flexibility and good body composition.


Physical fitness can be achieved through proper diet with proper nutrition, physical exercise and rest. Physical activities and exercise can have long term health benefits. Regular exercise improves our quality of life. It also improves respiratory, cardiac and overall health of a person. It also reduces risk for heart disease, cancer and diabetic problems. According to research four types of exercise are necessary for fitness. These are body strength, balance, flexibility of muscles and endurance.

Aerobic exercise can also be done for becoming physically fit. It is a type of cardiovascular conditioning which includes daily activities like swimming, running, dancing, cycling or walking. Aerobic exercise also means “with oxygen.” During aerobic activities our heart rate and breathing will also rise.
